Back on topic, nothing says hybrid success like a big old hole through the middle of a 1" thick concrete slab :D

found the problem, burst disks were too strong, this shot used a disk made from a CD case which bursts at a puny 30 PSI, just enough to hold the fuel and air in, should get quite fruity when I find something that bursts quickly enough at a much higher pressure. I did get one of my thicker disks to work but there was nearly a second delay time between ignition and disk bursting, peak pressure will have dropped substantially by this time.

That is a beautiful damage shot.
Was this your glue slug?

Yep, it's third and final successful trip down the barrel, when PVC and hot melt glue meet concrete there are no survivors.
I've got some interesting video footage to edit now, additional carnage on its way...

Weird to see spiderweb cracking in a concrete slab ^^

Enough energy to make the whole slab bend outwards enough to shatter.

I had fun finding all the pieces and putting them back together amidst the smoke and dust.
The next super target I have lined up is an offcut of thick beech worktop, I'm going to really have to get my burst disks sorted and find some harder ammo before I take this one on though.

Here's that footage as promised, I love watching lumps of concrete floating through the air in slow motion :)

Some interesting things to note from the video, on the first hybrid shot you can hear some air escaping from around the burst disk for nearly a second before it blows. Despite the far from optimum bursting pressures of the disks they seem to seriously increase the power, notice on the normal combustion shot there is no recoil but for the hybrid shots the gun recoils back several inches, and this is one heavy cannon sitting on two concrete blocks.

Very nice! That air escaping from the burst disk will really hit you're performance, It'll mean that air can escape during combustion so might bing down your peak psi a good amount.

To get rid of that electronic sound from the slow motion, right click on the sound wave, go to properties, then the audio event tab and click lock pitch to stretch.

Yeah I won't be using those burst disks again, as well as leaking I had one that didn't burst at all, don't really want to be subjecting my chamber to that kind of pain :o
Interestingly clear plastics are a lot more brittle than coloured ones, (I guess the dye acts as a plasticiser or the clear plastic is more ctystalline) making them much better burst disks. the second burst disk was the front of a CD jewel case, 1mm thick, very brittle, probably polystyrene but to low a burst pressure. I reckon clear 1mm acrylic which is a lot stronger should be about perfect.
Thanks for the tip about the noise removal, can't find a sound wave in windows movie maker yet but I'm working on it :)

Interesting, I never had that problem in WMM. I always used Special effects > Slow down half and then applied it 2 or 3 times to the same clip. I moved to vegas because of it's ability to play clips in reverse, other than that, for my basic skills the two are about the same functionality
